Marilynn Knowlson-Hauke

Marilynn Knowlson-Hauke grew up in NE New Jersey and graduated from Bogota High School, Bogota, NJ in 1968. She studied political science, history and secondary education at Keuka College, Keuka Park, NY where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in 1972.

She also went on to earn a Master’s Degree in counseling psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR in 1976.
Marilynn spent her career as a counselor and history teacher at Clatskanie High School from 1973 to 1980, a high school completion specialist at Portland Community College from 1980 to 1981, a teacher at Tongue Point Job Corps Center from 1981 to 1983, and a counselor at Astoria Middle and High Schools from 1983 to 2010.

Both as a school counselor and now as a Board Member, Marilynn has seen how the Astoria High School Scholarships, Inc. program provides inspiration for students to explore and achieve and to reach beyond their own grasp.
