Lynn Jackson (Representative)
As a native Oregonian, Lynn Jackson returned to his home state in the Fall of 1999 after having earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Education and a minor in Spanish Education from Brigham Young University. Upon taking his first teaching position at Astoria High School, he taught Economics, Geography, and Honors U.S. History for 8 years.
As part of his professional development, Mr. Jackson has earned advanced degrees or licensure from Western Oregon University (Masters of Science in Education), Concordia University (Initial Administrative Licensure), and Portland State University (Continuing Administrative Licensure). He coached in the AHS football program and was the head track coach for 10 years at AHS. For the past several years, Mr. Jackson has served as a building administrator for AHS, from 2007-2012 as an Assistant Principal and from 2012 – present as the building Principal. As the Principal of AHS, he has served as a Board Advisor to Astoria High School Scholarships, Inc. since 2012. He is married to Dawn Jackson. They are the parents of four children who are all part of the Astoria School District educational system and are proud to have them be Astoria Fishermen and Future Fishermen.
